Great Vow
The Great Vow is setting up and defining the goal. Without a goal, we may go in circles or backward. But if we have a view of the proper goal, whether we travel fast or slow, eventually we reach our destination.
Before you ever heard about the Four Vows in Buddhism, there was a spark of questioning that set you on your way. Probably few of us called it making a vow at that early age, but it was a strong enough intention to see firsthand and inspire us to look for a true way, a true path to follow.
