Spring Stories
Daily Zen provides a quiet, clear pond of tranquility with circles
of inner peace spread by your pebble of surface stimulation that emphasizes the infinite nature of our inner clarity. Thanks for providing this lovely anchor that enables us to center in our expanding awareness. These quotes make me feel like I am exploring a delightful woods, not knowing what is around the next turn in the path but opening my heart,my eyes, and my awareness, with delighted appreciation for the unexpected.

This last November/December was a very hard time for me. Into the hospital 5 times altogether with heart problems. Near death on at least 4 occasions. Finally my problem was fixed, but my view of life had become dark. Yesterday, I started catching up on my Daily Zen reading, not with any hope of clearing my darkness, but just to clear out my backed up email. Habit made me read it instead of just deleting it. The one I read was Bodhidharma's Bloodstream Sermon. Emotion rushs up in me as I type this. The doctors saved my life, but Bodhidharma saved my spirit. Bodhidharma and
Daily Zen who sent it to me.

Thank you as always from here in Japan. I log onto Daily Zen frequently for peace of mind and quiet, worthy thoughts. With all the clamor and calamities in the world, I like to ground myself in everyday elemental sanities and your site helps. Daily Zen has been part of my life for several years. It gives me a sense
of spiritual community.

I have just found you in the last few months, and Iove to go to the Zendo for just a few minutes. It helps me stay centered and relaxed, and it’s nice
to think others may be in the "room" with me.
I appreciate all the beautiful art and the inspiring Zen texts that you post. Daily Zen is a part of my journey. It's like someone to hold my hand as I venture through life. Thanks for being there.

Reading the quote at DZ is one of the highlights of my day. It helps me focus on the really important things in life. I have a long way to go before I can reach maturity/enlightenment, but at least there seems to be a permanent crack in the facade through which the infinite light shines, though it is feeble at times. I still struggle to simplify my life and not react to the near universal cries for war and violence.

For me Daily Zen helps me to realize that there are people and communities all over the world who try to make a difference just by being kind and inspiring. It gives me strength and focus to try to do my best on the Way to compassion, wisdom and peace for all.

I 'm more used to writing in French so excuse my English. For the past years I've become used to reading all your zen readings, and it gives me so much hope and encourage me to go with my practice. To explain to you your importance in my daily life I want to tell you a small story. Last year, or the year before, I am not sure, I was at work, and I needed a small break. What I usually do is
go to the Daily Zen site and do a 5 minute zazen;what a surprise to see the site down at the time; I was very sad. What a joy the day
after to see that you were back!

Daily Zen is wonderful. Sometimes I just get on it and look at the beautiful artwork that comprises your cards selection. These pictures bring great peace and harmony to me. I am particularly affected by the bright, bold colors, which I absolutely love. I really resonate to these. There is a much needed tranquility that can be found on this website.
